This small group of proprietary modifications and upgraded parts was designed to ensure flawless operation under adverse conditions and to allow the system to perform at its optimum.

The Package includes:

• 4 to 6 barrel modifications (depending on barrel type)
• 3 gas system modifications
• 2 bolt group modifications
• Buffer assembly and other lower receiver parts

The M16 is one of the most reliable designs ever produced and the Colt Factory builds an extremely high quality product; however, even the best can often be better.

Any Colt parts purchased from Specialized Armament will be correctly assembled or installed at no charge.

OPERATOR PACKAGE - COLT AR-15/M16/M4                                 $199

Since the introduction of our COLT AR-15A3 LIGHTWEIGHT Tactical Operator (LWT-TO) and Special Operator series Carbines, we have received constant requests to perform specific “OPERATOR” upgrades on a variety of COLT carbines.

Yes, we will do the Operator Package on any factory COLT rifle or carbine—even creating special barrel combinations which are not normally possible with a flat-top upper receiver, due to inherent sighting and feed issues.

This Operator Package includes all shop services required in cutting, machining and contouring the factory COLT front sight base & pins; refinishing (U.S. Mil-spec DOD-P-16232F Type M); and assembly.  Our Operator series upgrades create a precision “gas block” which maintains the entire COLT factory gas system, without the use of any aftermarket parts.  This upgrade will fit neatly within a LaRue free-float rail system and can also be combined with our long-standing Reliability Package—for an additional $75.

The LaRue free-float rail systems are the only systems which our company will install on this package.  We have built several custom fixtures, gages and tools which will only work with these LaRue rail systems—which are available in several lengths.  The Operator Package can also be applied to short-barrel-rifles (SBR-Class III) and select-fire weapons (MG-Class III) with various barrel lengths.  Specific barrels can also be modified to accommodate both QD and threaded sound suppressors (Silencers-Class III) for special operations.

The base package is $199 and does not include the cost of the rail system (which may be supplied to us) or any other upgraded components.  We will be glad to give exact costs for any special production weapons or other work upon request.

Barrels

M4/M4A1 feed ramps -                                                                               $50.00

Machine M4 “deep” feed ramps on older carbine or rifle barrel extensions – required for use with any Colt “M4” or “4” upper receiver.

Machine secondary feed ramp cut and feed ramp relief cuts.  A must for overall reliability, especially with non-standard ammunition or M855 ball.

Re-port gas system -                                                                                 $45.00

This procedure involves machining the barrel to increase gas flow for non-U.S. Mil-spec ammo that often generates lower gas pressure in the M16 direct gas system.  Gas flow through the port can be mathematically calculated for any percentage increase desired.

Thread barrel assy -                                                                                  $150.00

Disassemble the barrel assembly, machine barrel to correct length, turn correct outside diameter, thread barrel, recrown muzzle, re-port gas system (if required), refinish barrel, re-assemble barrel assembly.

Thread barrel assy (bbl assy. installed) -                                             $195.00

Disassemble upper receiver group, disassemble the barrel assembly, machine barrel to correct length, turn correct outside diameter, thread barrel, recrown muzzle, re-port gas system (if required), refinish barrel, re-assemble barrel assembly, correctly install barrel with sight alignment, re-assemble upper receiver group.

Refinish barrel assembly – and related parts                         $75.00

Disassemble barrel assembly; refinish barrel, flash suppressor, sight base, sight post, detent, handguard cap, and barrel nut to U.S. Mil-spec DOD-P-16232F Type M; re-assemble; correctly rivet sling swivel with Colt factory tools.

Re-pin front sight base with oversized taper pins, fixture align sights.

Install GemTech Bi-Lock – without shims or washers                    $45.00

Machine/counter bore Bi-Lock for precise fit and orientation to a specific Colt barrel assy., refinish after machining, correctly install Bi-Lock.  This service does not include the GemTech Bi-Lock.

Upper Receiver – Machine correct M4 feed ramps                           $50.00

This modification will allow older Colt AR-15 & M16 uppers, as well as current production Colt rifle uppers, to function more reliably with all new Colt carbine/Commando barrels made after 1992.  These feed ramps were a definite improvement in the M4 series carbines.

Machine Lower Receiver – pivot pin assy.                                          $50.00

Machine Colt Semi-automatic lower receivers (0.250 in. “small” pivot pin hole) to accept pivot pin detent and spring.  This precision modification allows the use of the M16 style pivot pin assy. (3 piece) – replacing the pin and screw assy.
